How the format has changed

  • K2K1–K2K7: stroke play for the Cup.
  • K2K5 (Nevada): the first trip with the wives. Tradition: every 5th year the budget goes up and the better halves come along (K2K10 Isle of Palms, K2K14 Santa Fe).
  • K2K8–K2K9: the match-play years (Arkansas, Colorado).
  • K2K10 onward: quota scoring, which is why so many finishes now come down to the 18th.
  • K2K13: the first K2K round with caddies (Madden’s Classic, Minnesota).
  • K2K16: Scotland, the 40th-birthday trip that COVID pushed back a year (K2K15 Wisconsin was the stand-in).
  • K2K17: the first Member-Guest, with four two-man teams.
